About Us

Our non-profit organization works to support law enforcement and allied safety-stakeholders with specialized equipment, training programs, educational opportunities, skill development and services that will strengthen their efforts to make our community safer.

The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation, Inc. (ECLEF)

The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation, Inc. (ECLEF) is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1987 and was formerly known as the Erie County Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc.  ECLEF supports law enforcement and allied stake-holders in community safety with resources that are not always available due to department budget restrictions or accessibility.

Our Foundation:

• Provides grant-funding for needed specialized training opportunities and assets for Erie County law enforcement departments and allied community-safety stakeholders.

• Coordinates free training for law enforcement in specialized areas such as bio-terrorism; drug identification, bomb-threat assessment, crypto-currency among many other important and timely topics.

• Programs and hosts - for free - the annual Safe Schools Initiative Seminar and the Safe Places Seminar for schools, law enforcement, businesses & workplaces, houses of worship, military bases, nonprofit service providers, residential complexes, public transportation and open space operations.

• Recognizes outstanding contributions to public safety by our law enforcement community and others at our annual Awards Dinner.

Every citizen has a stake in protecting and serving our community. By contributing to the Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation, you play a large role in making Western New York a safer andbetter place to live.
